Canterbury plays host to numerous little niche stores, most of which live in the streets behind the Cathedral. Generally the locals know about these stores and the tourists may occasionally stumble onto them. One such store is: The art of candles. Unsurprisingly it specialises in candles. The whole store is filled with candles and nothing else. The originallity is not only in the idea but in the creation of the candles. Visit the store to see the bananas, mugs of tea and pints of bitter which are all really candles.

2. The Cauldron of Inspiration.
Another Folkestone store makes the list at number three. The Cauldron is situated in the Old Quarter of the town and specialises in mystical products. Owner Graham Bacon opened the store December 2011 because he believes there is a big enough market in the area. The varied products in the store offer something for Pagans, Buddhists and Shamans.
